This single-page website is dedicated to one purpose: preserving and presenting a video record of Kito Ryu Jujutsu principles and application. The video documents the underlying body method behind the art — not as a catalogue of kata, but as a study of the principles that make the techniques work: kuzushi, rising and falling, receiving force, changing line, centre control, timing, posture, and applied classical jujutsu movement.
Kito Ryu is rarely documented in English as a living body method. This video was created as a preservation piece to record how the “engine” of the art can be expressed through solo movement, paired practice, throws, takedowns, and practical application.
Its intention is not to claim a complete representation of the entire Kito Ryu curriculum, but to preserve and share a focused record of the movement logic, balance-breaking, and body mechanics that sit behind classical Japanese jujutsu.

Ken Yoshida Mah is a lifelong martial artist dedicated to the preservation, study and practical application of classical Japanese ju jutsu principles. He began martial arts training at the age of 10 and, now approaching 50, has continued to train, research and refine his understanding of traditional and modern jujutsu for nearly four decades.Ken holds a modern expression of a koryu-based 7th Dan in Japanese Ju Jutsu and a modern expression of a Kito Ryu 5th Dan, having been awarded his Kito Ryu black belt at the age of 19.
His training has included direct Japanese instruction. Ken’s interest is not only in preserving techniques, but in preserving the deeper body principles and applications of koryu ju jutsu: kuzushi, timing, centre control, rising and falling, receiving force, changing line, and practical movement under pressure.
In past training environments, he was also selected to teach more advanced classes, reflecting his long-term commitment to both practice and instruction.Through his Japanese mother, Ken comes from the Kimura samurai family lineage, with historical retainer scrolls and family documents presented alongside this biography as part of the broader preservation record.
This Kito Ryu Jujutsu preservation video was created in collaboration with Daniel Turner, 4th Dan in Ju Jutsu. Daniel is recognised by the Australian Jujitsu Federation, as an accredited Senior Coach (NCAP Level 3), and has been training in the martial arts since 1986 Link To Accreditation. His involvement supports the video’s broader purpose: preserving the principles and applied body method behind traditional Japanese jujutsu, rather than presenting the material as a modern sport, commercial self-defence product, or simple technique catalogue.
The video is therefore presented jointly by: Ken Yoshida Mah & Daniel Turner
Together, they created this video as a focused preservation piece dedicated to the principles, body mechanics and application of Kito Ryu Jujutsu, rather than as a complete kata catalogue or claim to represent every branch of the tradition.
